The AutoMark Voter Assist Terminal (VAT) is used to mark the ballot selections of voters who have are visually/hearing impaired.
Ballot choices and instructions are displayed in large text print on the touch screen monitor, as well as read by the audio system. Headphones may be provided, when needed, by election officials. Voters enter their selections by touching buttons on the screen or pressing keys on the keypad.
The AutoMark machine marks the ballot with your selections and returns the ballot to the voter. The voter can then submit their marked ballot in the normal manner for tabulation – insert into the Accu-Vote Machine.
There is one (1) AutoMark machine for each polling location.
