Project Updates:
Alewife Path (91-183) – DEP issued SOOC (affirmation) on 6/28/06 for Arlington. S. Kaiser reported that Cambridge citizens appealed the Cambridge SOOC for the path and it is proceeding through DEP appeal process. Also, the Cambridge appeal of the retention basin proposed at the Alewife Reservation is heading to court.

DCR and MEMA have a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funded by FEMA. Types of eligible projects: acquisition of real property for willing sellers to convert of open space, retrofitting of structures, elevation of flood-prone structures, development of vegetation management plans, minor flood control projects, local flood control projects to protect critical facilities. Application for grants will be coordinated with other town departments.
