ARLINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES
AUGUST 17, 2000
Ms. Brent called the meeting to order at 7:30pm at the Town Hall. Present were Corinna Beckwith, Susan Brent, Nathaniel Stevens, Timothy Sullivan, and Judith Hodges of the Commission.
7:30pm – MISCELLANEOUS
Minutes of the 8/3/00 hearing were approved with comments submitted by Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Stevens. The draft minutes of 7/20/00 were distributed by Ms. Brent for review.
The resignation of Mr. Emsbo-Mattingly was submitted on August 8, 2000. The Commission received a letter of commendation for his 7 years of service from the Town Manager.
Ms. Brent reported on the weed removal at the Arlington Reservoir. It began this week and work will conclude tomorrow. The machinery will be out of the water after that. Only the Arlington half of the reservoir has been cleared since no permits were received from the Lexington Conservation Commission for this year.
8:00pm - MUGAR PARCEL, RT 2 – ANRAD
Ms. Hodges convened the hearing at 8:00pm. The consultant for the proponent requested a continuation of the hearing to the next meeting date in order to address preliminary comments from the Commission and engage the Commission’s independent review consultant.
Balloons and bulldozers were observed at the site this week. Comment letters have been received from residents.
The Commission approved the continuance to the September 7 hearing at 8:15pm.
MISCELLANEOUS, CONTINUED
The hearing for the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Notice of Intent has been continued to September 21st at 8pm.
Ms. Beckwith asked about getting copies of the Great Meadows report from Frances Clark. Ms. Brent has her number. Ms. Brent reminded the Commission that we need to apply to the Lexington Conservation Commission for weed eradication in Great Meadows for next year.
