ARLINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 7, 2006

Mr. Stevens called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Town Hall Annex.  Present were David White, Judith Hodges, William O’Rourke, Ellen Reed, Timothy Sullivan, and Chuck Tirone of the Commission.  Catherine Garnett, of the Commission, was not in attendance.  Kim Barton presented the 9 Dudley St Place project; Mary Marino and her brother were also in attendance.

7:30 p.m.  - COMMISSION BUSINESS
The Commission discussed Town Day on September 9; booth equipment, schedules, pamphlets.

Hodges/Reed motioned to approve the 8/17 minutes with edits; motion passed unanimously.
Reed/White motioned to approve the 8/29 minutes; motion passed unanimously.

Mr. White very graciously donated a copier/scanner/printer to the Conservation Office.

7:45pm          NOTICE OF INTENT –– 9 DUDLEY ST PLACE, commercial building

This hearing was continued from August 17, 2006.
Ms. Barton presented the revised plan to the Commission which includes the redesign of the landscaped area (from a long narrow strip along the back fence) to a larger area to the rear of the proposed building.  The amount of building area that will be removed will be 1520 square feet (s.f.) and the new building will be 2336 s.f. (the difference being 816 s.f.).  The new landscaped area will have an area of 2625 s.f., much more than the new impervious surface increase.  All roof drainage will be directed to the infiltration system located underneath the new landscaped area.     Ms. Barton provided specifications for the infiltration system.

Reed/White motioned to close the hearing; motion passed unanimously.
White/Hodges motioned to approve the proposed project with the condition that the plant list be provided to the Commission for review; motion passed unanimously.

COMMISSION BUSINESS (cont.)
The Arlington Advocate and Boston Globe published articles regarding the resident at 339 Mystic St, with whom the Commission has pending Enforcement litigation.  Mr. Stevens presented a drafted Agreement for Judgement to the Commission for review and approval.
Reed/White motioned to approved the drafted settlement; motion passed unanimously.

The Commission discussed the Garden Club work at Cookes Hollow, and discussed the capital budget appropriation.

The Commission voted to convene at approximately 8:45 p.m.
