Forest Street Update: 11-23-2011
Hello Forest Street Residents,
This notice to update you on the status and progress of the Forest Street Project:
Yesterday we requested J. Marchese and Son to perform a general cleanup of the area, to remove some of the heavy equipment and to re-position the remaining equipment to less conspicuous areas. We hope that this effort will provide for a less intrusive and more organized area for the long holiday weekend.
Construction Progress: updated November 23, 2011
Water Services: by-pass switch over
The installation of the new 8” water main has been completed and the installation of the individual water service connections is nearing completion; only eight (8) remain to be connected to the new water main. The Water Department is continuing to coordinate with residents to flush meters and perform the by-pass switch over for residents that have been notified of the completion of their service connections.
Road Work:
Today, Wednesday (11/23), approximately two-thirds (2/3) of the Forest Street Project has been paved with an initial binder course and a second intermediate asphalt. The last portion of the project from #307 Forest Street to the Town line is anticipated to have binder pavement in-place by December 3rd (weather dependent).
Remaining work for 2011:
Upon completion of paving MassDOT and the Arlington Engineering Division will prepare a punch-list of items for the contractor to complete prior to the onset of winter.
Work is anticipated to re-commence in the springtime with a goal of completing the remaining work including, drainage, sidewalk, curbing, landscaping and paving by August 2012.
Have an enjoyable Holiday. As always please feel free to contact me with any questions.
