This week the installation of the water main for the lower section of the Forest Street project (address #205 to #271)was completed and pressure tested. Water sampling and testing is underway. If the results are positive, work will begin to remove the steel plates in the intersections of Brand St. and Hancock St., and the house service tie-ins are anticipated to begin on Tuesday, October 4th. These tie-ins will connect the new water main to the existing water connections for each individual house. It is expected that it will require approximately 3-4
weeks to connect all services on the lower section. Upon completion of the service connection each house will be removed from the temporary by-pass system and the new water service will be turned on.
Work on the upper section of the Forest Street project will proceed simultaneously with the service connections and will continue to install a new water main. This work will progress towards the Winchester town line. Currently the new water main has been installed to the vicinity of #303 Forest Street and temporary trench pavement has been installed to this location.
Thank you for your patience during the project as we continue towards completion.
