Water Main Construction Notice - Washington Street
Beginning the week of June 1st, the Contractor for the Department of Public Works will begin work to replace the water mains in Washington Street. The project will take place in two segments; Forest Street to Edmund Street and Edmund Street to Summer Street. Work along each segment is expected to run approximately two months and will begin along the Forest Street to Edmund Street segment. Initially, work will involve bringing equipment and materials to the area as well as the laying of temporary by-pass water mains.
There may be restrictions for parking between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and traffic may need to be detoured at times (local traffic and emergency vehicles will always have access). Appropriate signage will be placed along the roadway in either the case of parking restriction or detours.
