GUIDELINES FOR USE OF ARLINGTON ASSISTANCE MONEYS
1) Applicants must meet Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) income guidelines.
2) Proof of income must be provided. Proof of income can be last year’s W2 form or tax return form and current year’s monthly income.
3) Applicants needing assistance for heat (including oil, gas, electricity) must apply first with the state Energy
Assistance Program. (Local office – 643-2358)
4) To qualify for fuel assistance with this Arlington Assistance Program, proof of rejection from the state Energy Assistance Program must be supplied. Proof of rejection may be provided to us as follows:
a) income ineligibility for Fuel Assistance income guidelines
b) rejection letter from the Fuel Assistance program
c) written consent for us to inquire about rejection from the Fuel Assistance program
5) Request for funding from this Arlington Assistance Program must constitute an emergency.
An emergency includes:
a. Shut off notice
b. Endangerment of health
c. Lack of heat in cold weather month
d. Other extraordinary circumstances
6) No telephone bills will be funded except in extraordinary circumstances, decided on a case by case basis.
7) Assistance from this Arlington Assistance Program will be given in the amount of $200 one time per year for emergency purposes only.
