Mission Statement
The Arlington Youth Consultation Center will work towards the treatment, prevention, and resolution of problems relating to the children and youth of the Town, and will advise and assist other agencies concerned with such matters.
Philosophy
The Arlington Youth Consultation Center (AYCC), founded in 1970, began as a community response to the adolescent drug abuse problem of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Despite a change in emphasis from specifically drug-related issues to the broader area of child and adolescent development, the original philosophy of the agency persists: a professionally trained, low-key, and accessible staff that is willing and able to reach out in non-traditional ways to engage even marginally motivated clients in the process of self discovery and growth.
