- The meeting minutes for November 3, 2010 were approved.
- UPDATE: 128 Madison Ave:
Inspector Waden reported that she had spoken with the contractor who completed the clean out and was informed that Mr. Edgerton is currently out of state. The contractor indicated that the owner is trying to come up with funding to make all necessary repairs inside the house. The contractor will contact the Board of Health Office was they receive funding from the owner to move forward with indoor repairs.
- UPDATE: 63-65 Windsor Street
Inspector Waden reported that this office has been working with the Fire Department and owner of the property in setting up times for the owner to gain access to the dwelling unit.
Inspector Waden reported that a tobacco compliance check was conducted on November 17, 2010 with a minor who attempted to purchase cigarettes from 23 establishments. No sales were made.
Director Connolly presented the Board with an update on the Department of Health and Human Services budget for FY12. Connolly reported that there would be severe budget cuts throughout the town and across all departments. Connolly stated that to prepare for budget cuts, the Town Manager has required that all departments implement a 2.7% cut on January 1st and that 10% cuts are expected for July 1.
Waden reported that Cakes Bakery/Café opened for business last month, Comella’s is still in the construction phase and a new plan review application for Fresh Pond Seafood to be located at 75 Summer Street (previously Little Brick Barn) is currently under review. Waden also reported that there was a gas leak at I Chef which resulted in an immediate closure of the establishment on November 24, 2010. The establishment had since been reopened. Lastly, Waden reported that Tom Yum Koong remains closed due to fire damage that resulted from a fire in July.
Waden provided a status update regarding 18 Hamilton Road, #106 (Kate Hill’s unit). The unit remained in the same condition as it had on the day that it had been condemned and the office is working with Minuteman Senior Services to coordinate a cleanout.
- Public Health Nurse Updates:
Director Connolly reported that the Health Department hosted a flu clinic on Tuesday December 7, 2010 from 10AM-12:00PM at the Board of Health Office. The last clinic for the year will be held on Thursday December 16, 2010 at the Fox Library from 9AM-12PM.
