Call to Order: Robert Botterio presiding, with commissioners Jane Becker, JoAnn Robinson, Michael Ruderman, Pam Meister, and Eric Stange present.
Minutes of 3 September 2002: approved.
Communications Received
Mr. Ruderman-from Nancy McGill (781-648-6735) for assistance in researching the history of the Bartlett School in Belmont, which was founded at 34 Bartlett, Arlington.
Mr. Botterio-discussion of need to disseminate preservation guidelines, and the models of those of Somerville, Lexington, and Winchester on websites.
Ms. Becker-jurisdictional call regarding extent of landscaping and a patio on an Academy Street site; without a building permit needed, they do not figure in the 25% threshold calculation for oversight.

Continuing Projects
Whittemore-Robbins House (and outbuildings): Botterio-carriage house work put out to bid, as reported in the Arlington Advocate. Major roof and gutter repairs need to be undertaken in near future.
Arlington Civic Block Garden: Robinson-contractors have been invited to pre-bid submission conference.
Inventory Expansion and Review: moved, seconded and approved, to invite Mr. Richard A. Duffy, following on his superlative research of the Teel/Henderson neighborhood, to submit a proposal for research sufficient for possible inclusion in the Inventory of properties on Bartlett Avenue, Academy Street to Maple and Irving, Kensington Park, and lower Lake Street.
Education/Outreach: as below.
Fundraising Event: “Murder at Harvard” benefit, Regent Theater, November 19: delegation of responsibilities for planning and advertising.
Next meeting confirmed for November 12, and this meeting closed at 9:40 PM.
