Schedule of Permit Fees
Building:
• New construction (including additions, alterations, repairs to existing buildings) - $20 per $1,000 of estimated cost of construction; minimum fee - $50.
• Demolish a structure - $20 per $1,000 of cost of demolition; minimum fee - $50.
• Signs $10 per $100 of cost of sign & installation; minimum fee - $50.
• Moving of a structure - $500
• Buildings being built for and owned by the Town, County, State or U.S. shall be exempt from paying fees. The Housing Authority shall pay permit fees if Federal or State grant programs allow them as a project cost.
• Certificate of Occupancy - $50.
• Certificate of Approval - $50
• Certificate of Inspection - $100
• Petition to Building Board of Appeals - $400.
• Plan Review – (Zoning or Building Code) $7 per $1,000 of estimated cost of construction. If no construction is contemplated, then $60 per hour of Inspector’s time. Fee may be waived at discretion of Director of Inspectional Services.
• If additional plan review is deemed necessary, it shall be done by outside consultants of which cost shall be paid for by applicants or owners, etc.
• Where work is started without a permit, all required fees will be triple the scheduled fee.
• Re-inspection necessary because of violations or work not ready on a requested inspection - $50 before re-inspection is made.
Plumbing, Gas, and Wiring:
• $30 per $1,000 of estimated cost.
• Minimum fee - $50
• Work started without a permit, all fees will be triple the scheduled fee.
• Re-inspection necessary because of violations or work not ready on a requested inspection - $50 before re-inspection is made.
• Renewal of Town of Arlington’s Builder’s License; $30.
