Arlington Police Public Safety Fair May 17

Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan is pleased to announce that the Arlington Police Department will be hosting a Public Safety Fair on Saturday, May 17, 2008, from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. The fair will be held in the rear parking lot of Arlington High School, 869 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA.

Although the forecast calls for some rain today (May 17), this event is still on.

Representatives from greater Boston public safety agencies will be participating and on hand to answer your safety questions, including: Arlington Police Department; Arlington Fire Department; Arlington Explorer’s Post; Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee; North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council; Massachusetts State Police; Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department; United States Air Force; Armstrong Ambulance and Prudential Insurance Company.

Activities and exhibits for the fair will include:
- K-9 demonstration
- Rape Awareness Defense (RAD) exhibit
- Bicycle safety clinic
- Children’s identification kits
- Vehicle and equipment displays will allow visitors to explore Fire trucks, Police cars and motorcycles, the Police Command Center vehicle, and a helicopter (helicoptor only at the fair between 11a.m.- 1 p.m., barring any emergency that may request it during that time).
- Free pony rides (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
- Free bicycle safety helmets, keychains, coloring books (while supplies last), and a raffle for a boys and girls bicycle.
- Free hamburgers and hotdogs will be served under a tented area.
