Article 16 Home Rule Legislation/Subdivision Control Law
To see if the Town will vote to adopt Section 81K through 81GG of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 41, the so-called Sudivision Control Law, and to file Home Rule Legislation if necessary to conform such accpetance with the provisions of the Town Manager Act for the Town of Arlignton; or take any action related thereto. (inserted by the Board of Selectmen)
The Board of Selectmen expect to recommend at the May 28 session of Town Meeting an expansion of the authority of the Board of Survey to review and approve new private way developments and to invest that power in the Arlington Redevelopment Board (Article 16). To help understand the proposal, we include the following documents.
A summary of the proposal including some reasons for this approach and a draft of the home rule legislation that Town Meeting will be asked to approve. Note version of draft as it is still being updated until the Board of Selectmen meeting on May 28 at 6:30 p.m.
An early draft of the type of regulations that would eventually be adopted if the legislation passes. There would be a public hearing on the regulations.
