Alewife Brook Greenway Corridor Improvement Project
A project of Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation

Introduction
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation; Construction Division has provided information detailing the construction activity and schedule of work for the improvements along the Alewife Brook Greenway Corridor Improvement Project. The information contained within this memorandum is specific to the length of corridor between Broadway and Decatur Street.

Proposed Activity
The work activity proposed for the summer of 2011 entails installation of helical piles, construction of board walk and landscaping.  The majority of this work is in the immediate vicinity of Arizona Terrace and Sunnyside Avenue.

The construction began at the area adjacent to the Arizona Terrace apartment complex.  Work has progressed along the corridor towards Broadway.  Landscaping has been underway along the length of the corridor.  The installation of plants and shrubs continued through out the month of June until June 25th, when planting ceased due to the end of the spring planting season. Landscaping will resume again in the fall.
