Election Recount Set for July 9
The Board of Registrars has set the date for the recount for July 9, 2020. The process of organizing the ballots will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Town Hall. The actual counting of ballots will not begin before 10:30 a.m. The public is entitled to observe from the balcony and are asked to wear face coverings when possible. We may have to limit the number of people in the balcony to allow everyone to maintain safe spacing and not to exceed 25% of the capacity of the balcony.
There are three races being recounted: Select Board, all precincts, Town Meeting 3-Year terms in Precincts 6 and 17. Each candidate has the right to attend the recount and to bring additional representatives to act as observers at the counting tables. Results of the recount will be posted on the Elections page as soon as the Registrars declare the recount is complete, which should be the same day.
