Arlington Center Sidewalk Project
The Town is beginning a project to replace sidewalk surfaces in the center of Town between Pleasant Street and Franklin Street along Massachusetts Ave and Broadway. The Project has been awarded to D'Allessandro Corp. Work will include the replacement of brick walks with ADA compliant surfaces as well as the construction of ADA compliant crosswalks and ramps. Mobilization and project prep work began last week. Work that week will be installation of signage, fencing off material storage areas, and work on the street to saw cut pavement in preparation of construction work the following week.
Current Work Area to Begin July 6
Sidewalk constriction activities are scheduled to begin the week of July 6th on the sidewalks around 297 Broadway and on the west side of Medford Street (see map below). This first work is expected to take 5-10 business days. Work will include the removal and disposal of existing walks and construction of new walks prior to moving on to the next section of the project. Business and project abutters will be provided several days notice prior the work beginning adjacent to their properties and we will update the project area accordingly. The project map will be updated as the work progresses. Please check back.
The project is expected to take approximately 10 weeks.
