Hills Hill/Summer Street Playground ADA Path Project
The Arlington Park and Recreation Commission and the Department of Public Works are pleased to be able to share with the community that long awaited ADA upgrades will be taking place at the Summer Street Playground, Buck Field, and Hills Hill Field facilities. Since the Summer Street Playground was first installed in 2008/2009 with its zero entry accessible features it has been a goal of the Town to provide assessable access to the facility. In 2014 the Institute of Human Centered Design completed an ADA self-evaluation of all properties under the jurisdiction of the Park and Recreation Commission. As per recommendations in the report an accessible pathway is being constructed connecting the parking lot with the field, playground, and bike path. This project has been bid and the contract is in the process of being awarded. It is estimated that this project will begin during the spring of 2021.
