APD Update
Arlington Police Chief Julie Flaherty reports a man has been indicted for obstruction of justice in the 2019 arson case at Chabad Center For Jewish Life Arlington-Belmont, in Arlington. She also announces that APD is hiring its first recovery coach to help individuals on the path to recovery, and plans for upcoming events, including Coffee with the Chief for Arlington Seniors on March 30th. Man Indicted for Obstruction into 2019 Arson at Jewish Religious Center in Arlington
Chief Julie Flaherty reports that the U.S. Department Justice has announced an indictment was unsealed charging a Massachusetts man for allegedly obstructing an investigation into fires set in 2019 at Jewish-affiliated institutions in the area, including in Arlington. The United States plans to seek extradition from Sweden to face charges in Boston, which the Chief hopes will bring “some measure of solace to the victims." Read the full release.
March 30 APD and the Council on Aging invite Arlington Seniors to Coffee with the Chief
Join Arlington Police and Chief Flaherty for coffee and conversation. Coffee with a Cop is an initiative implemented throughout cities and towns nationwide, that is designed to provide a welcoming environment for residents to get to know their police officers face-to-face and talk about what’s going on in their community. The event will be held at the Town Hall Auditorium for Arlington seniors on March 30, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Coffee will be provided free of charge. Add to your iCalendar.
