On March 24, 2025, the Select Board made the overnight parking permit pilot program permanent. The townwide program is limited to 175 permits issued on a first come, first served basis. The program aims to balance requests from some residents to try additional resident parking options with cautions expressed by others about potential negative effects on streets and neighborhoods.
- The pilot will be administered by the Office of the Select Board and the following will apply:
- Permits will cost $1 per day and will be effective until December 31, 2024 (Participants will need to renew in late 2024 for 2025).
- Limit of one sticker per household and no more than two permits per property.
- Vehicle registration and proof of residence (ex. Pay Stub, Rental Agreement, Property Tax/Utility Bill, etc.) are required when applying.
- Vehicles that have this sticker affixed will be able to park in front of, or adjacent, to their residence overnight during the pilot period.
- Each permit holder is assigned a spot in a municipal lot to use in the event of a weather emergency street parking ban.
