Town of Arlington Booths at Town Day 2025

Visitors Center Open for Town Day 
The Arlington Tourism and Economic Development Committee’s Visitors Center, located in Uncle Sam Plaza, will be open during Town Day. Swing by the small-but-mighty building and meet the volunteers who acquaint visitors with Arlington’s history and attractions. 

AFD Touch-a-Truck, Smoke House, and Jaws of Life Demos 
Demonstrations behind the library. 

Arlington Fire Fighters will provide fire safety demonstrations from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. behind the library. Metro Fire SAFE’s Smoke House is a 3-room trailer designed to teach children about fire hazards in the home. Touch-a-truck opportunities and Jaws of life demonstrations are also planned.  

APD Family Services Team and K9 Eiko Demos                                                                 
APD booth at Mass Ave and Robbins library. 

Arlington police will be providing public safety information and discussion at their booth on Mass Ave. at the Robbins Library entrance throughout Town Day. The Family Services Team will be on hand to provide assistance on a wide range of topics. K9 Officer Michael Hogan along with the APD's K9 Eiko will conduct demonstrations (11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.) in the Robbins Library parking lot. 

Friends of Library Book Sale Rain or Shine 
The Sale is in the parking lot behind the library as well as downstairs in the Library’s Community Room and upstairs on the 4th floor. Held 10:30 am – 3:00 pm.  Check for updates at RobbinsLibrary.org.

DPCD at Town Day  
Come visit the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) staff and committees that they work with at Town Day. They will be at tables along Mass Ave and include: 
  • AMPUp! Advisory Committee
  •  Arlington Heights Business District
  • Arlington Community Electricity
  • Electrify Arlington / Clean Energy Future Committee
  • Affordable Housing Trust
  • Conservation Commission
  • Open Space Committee
  • Envision Arlington

HHS at Town Day 
Come visit the Department of Health and Human Services and the committees they work with at Town Day.  

  • Arlington Human Rights Commission

  • LGBTQIA+ Rainbow Commission 

  • Arlington Youth Counseling Center (AYCC) 

  • First Step, a support group for survivors of domestic violence. 

  • Arlington Prevention Services 

Reducing Waste at Town Day 
Zero Waste Arlington and the Town Day Committee are partnering for the third year with multiple efforts to reduce waste at Town Day: 

  • FREE Water - refill your reusable bottle at the MWRA water truck at Court Street. Free, used and cleaned water bottles and reusable water cups will also be available. 

  • Reduce Single-Use reusable container program - eliminate single-use takeout waste by signing up to use a reusable container at one of 10 partner food vendors. 

  • The Zero Waste Arlington booth will share tips for reducing single-use waste at home and provide info on how to recycle difficult items (including textiles and mattresses).
