This change will impact 1,642 Arlington households, including families with children, disabled adults, and many from our senior population, who receive an average of $287 per month. We know that this loss will create even greater hardship for members of our community who are already struggling financially. We also know that other crucial support programs are facing cuts, further compounding the financial stress many of our households are already experiencing.
Many residents have asked how they can help fellow community members impacted by these changes. Arlington EATS and Food Link are committed to stepping up during this challenging time and are expanding their services to support as many residents as possible. Health and Human Services is coordinating efforts across town to connect people to resources that can provide assistance and relief. The Council on Aging is offering transportation services for seniors to Arlington EATS Market and will continue to offer a daily congregate lunch at the Community Center.
