MassDOT Advisory: Overnight Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements on Lake Street

Nightly lane closures in place Sun - Thurs, 8PM-5AM, Sept 2 - Oct 2.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing the commencement of bicycle and pedestrian improvements on Lake Street in Arlington. Nightly lane closures will be in place Sunday through Thursday, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning, beginning Wednesday, September 2, and continuing through Friday morning, October 2. The work will involve median removal, milling, paving, and pavement marking operations, abutters may hear workers. The closures are necessary to allow crews to safely and efficiently perform bicycle and pedestrian improvements.

This work is part of a $3 million scheduled bicycle and pedestrian improvement project in Revere, Arlington, and Haverhill.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advance message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. 

Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.
