The Town of Arlington is pleased to offer two Property Tax Work Off programs which may assist qualifying residents in paying some of their property taxes.
Seniors age 60 and over, who own and reside in an Arlington property, have the opportunity to apply for the Senior Property Tax Work-Off Program to receive a $1,500 property tax relief benefit by helping in a municipal department. The benefit is applied to the property tax bill when the hours are completed. Seniors have the opportunity to volunteer 136 hours to get a $1,500 property tax relief benefit.
Veterans who own and reside in an Arlington property, or their proxy, have an opportunity to apply for the Veterans’ Property Tax Work-Off Program to earn a $1,000 property tax relief benefit by helping in a municipal department. Veterans have the opportunity to volunteer 91 hours to get a $1,000 property tax relief benefit. The benefit is applied to the property tax bill when the hours are completed.
The Senior and Veterans’ Property Tax Work-Off Programs are administered by the Council on Aging in conjunction with other town offices.
If you have any questions concerning these guidelines, need an application, or need more information about the program, please contact Joyce Killingsworth the COA at 781-316-3400.
