Support the Donation-Thrift Store Cycle
Join the circular economy
Donating clothes and shopping at thrift stores are classic solutions you should consider adding to your zero-waste habit. The more we develop routines that support the natural cycle of ReUse, the less waste we create.
The first step in the cycle is find the best places to donate your clothes. In Arlington you can use the Goodwill truck behind Stop & Shop or the donations bins at the elementary schools. There are more bins around Town, so from a zero-waste perspective, any bin you will use is better than not donating at all.
The second step in the cycle is to buy other people's donated items at thrift stores rather than buying new. Arlington hosts two such shops now:
The Friends of the Fox Thrift Store also hosts Fashion at the Fox which specializes in women's clothes and accessories.
The Little Fox Shop in the Fox Branch (175 Mass Ave) supports the Fox Branch.
And there are great stores near Arlington, too! This link shows you some of the options for nearby resale shops. We know many people who are big fans of Restoration Project and Revolve in Belmont.
