Creating a community where all are heard, respected, and protected
We believe everyone in Arlington has the right to communicate and understand the information in the language and method most comfortable for them. Residents who speak a language other than English (LOTE) or who have disabilities may request reasonable accommodations from the Town of Arlington. Accommodations are free for residents.
The Town aims to reduce language and communication barriers. We will ensure residents have resources to use all town services and programs. Examples of resources include:
- Spoken Language Interpretation
- Sign Language Interpretation
- Translation and/or Alternative Formatting of Vital Documents and Vital Information
- Translation and/or Alternative Formatting of other Written Materials
- Auxiliary Aids and Assistive Technology
I-Speak
Each department has an i-speak poster to make connecting easier.
You can print these cards and bring them with you.
Translation Devices
Many of our departments are equipped with translation devices at their front desks. These are not a replacement for interpretation but are helpful in brief interactions.
