The Arlington Veterans Oral History Project represents a vital effort to preserve and share the voices of Arlington's veterans. Through an eight-month proof of concept completed by the town's Veterans Council and Veterans Services Office, we have begun capturing the memories, experiences, and stories of Arlington residents who served our nation.

About the Project

These documentary videos preserve the personal accounts of Arlington veterans and their survivors spanning from 1941 to the present day, offering intimate glimpses into their service experiences and the lasting impact on both their lives and our community. Each interview has been carefully produced into publication-quality documentary format, ensuring these important stories are preserved for future generations.

The Videos

The collection below represents the initial phase of this important historical documentation effort. Each video offers a unique perspective on military service, from the personal challenges and triumphs of individual veterans to the broader impact of their service on family and community life.

These interviews serve multiple purposes: they honor our veterans' contributions, provide historical context for our community's heritage, and create a lasting archive that will inform and inspire future generations about the sacrifices and dedication of those who served.

Looking Forward

This collection represents just the beginning. In 2025, the project will expand to document at least forty additional veterans' stories, creating a comprehensive archive that spans multiple generations of service members from Arlington.
