Menotomy Weatherization Assistance Program
This program is designed to assist low-income households to reduce their heating bills by providing home energy efficiency services.
The program is operational year round. After a household is determined eligible, a Mass. Weatherization Certified Energy Auditor completes an inspection of the home’s energy and health and safety concerns. Local certified and insured weatherization contractors are hired to complete the work at no cost to the occupants. Typical work includes air sealing, attic and/or sidewall insulation, weather stripping, and minor repairs associated with the weatherization work. Heating system work, if needed is done through HEARTWAP. All work will receive a thorough Quality Control inspection by the agency’s Energy Auditor. To the greatest extent possible, work is coordinated with any utility-funded Energy Efficiency programs that may be available. Households with incomes up to 60% of the estimated state median income are eligible for the Weatherization Assistance Program. Program eligibility is based on household eligibility for the LIHEAP Program. In addition, those households with a member receiving TAFDC or SSI are eligible. Tenants (with landlord approval) as well as homeowners are eligible for weatherization.

Arlington Offers Home Loans at 1.75% Interest to Eligible Homeowners
The Town of Arlington Home Rehabilitation Loan Program provides financial assistance to income-eligible Arlington homeowners who occupy one to four (1-4) family structures. This program, now its 42nd year, is funded through the Town’s Department of Planning & Community Development with Federal Community Development Block Grant funds. Funding permits the Arlington Home Rehabilitation Loan Program to make direct low-interest loans to eligible owners with household incomes at or below eighty percent (80%) of the area medium income as defined by HUD. The current interest rate is 1.75% with a minimum loan amount of $5,000. The Town loans aid in correcting conditions found to be detrimental to the occupant’s health and safety while improving Arlington’s housing stock. Eligible work includes but is not limited to correction of code violations, accessibility improvements, lead-based paint abatement, energy conservation, repair or replacement of heating systems, chimneys, roofs, gutters, foundations, and walls. Arlington Home Improvement Program
The principal purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to income eligible Arlington homeowners who occupy one to four (1-4) family structures. The Town of Arlington offers these homeowners low interest loans, or deferred payment loans, which aid in correcting conditions found to be detrimental to the occupant’s health and safety while improving Arlington’s housing stock.
Eligible work includes, but is not limited to, correction of code violations, accessibility improvements, lead paint hazard reduction and de-leading, asbestos and mold removal, weatherization, energy conservation, maintenance deficiencies, deteriorated roofs, structural deficiencies, replacement of obsolete heating systems.
