DPW is working under a minimal staffing plan and the Town-wide sweep will take longer to perform. DPW thanks residents for their continued patience as we all work together to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and continue to deliver municipal services.

The Town will resume its Spring Sweeping Program on April 6th. To coordinate our sweeping efforts, the Town has been divided into 35 segments (Routes 1-35). Routes are generally swept sequentially, the last route being 35. The Town will be updating schedule in the table and map below weekly (Monday) until the operation is complete, please check back.  To determine what route you live on, please use Property Search (click Services Summary link after you search your property).

 Routes Completed  28-35, 1-12, 14-17

Planned routes for each week are subject to changes due to weather, staffing, and equipment issues. Barring any major weather events, it is anticipated that it will take 8-10 weeks to complete this Town-Wide Sweep.

To assist us in our efforts, we ask that all vehicles be parked off the street during your scheduled week. Parked cars prevent a clean sweep. Public Works will not return to sweep streets due to cars parked during the initial visit.

Please note that according to Town Bylaw, Title III, Article 1, Section 33: Prohibition Against Obstructing Public Ways, it is forbidden to throw, or cause to be placed or thrown, onto any public sidewalk, street, fire hydrant, or highway and snow, dirt, leaves, gravel, or foreign substance or material.  Violations of this section shall be punishable by a fine of $25.00 per day if the material is not removed.  It is OK to push leaves that have fallen on public sidewalks (only) onto the street for sweepers to pick up.
