Welcome to our new page and our new name.  Vision 2020 changed its name to Envision Arlington in 2018, but we are still the same volunteers with the same overall mission.

Envision Arlington’s mission is to foster an engaged, culturally diverse, and civically active community. Our mission is guided by Arlington's values and aspirations, introduced as “Town Goals” when Vision 2020 was founded and now embodied in Arlington’s Master Plan.

We promote volunteer engagement, including seeking input from residents through public surveys and forums to explore how Arlington is doing and whether there are additional values or goals prioritized by the community.  It is vitally important to bring many voices into the conversation, so we are working to understand Arlington’s robust community of volunteer groups and engage with these groups. We report to Town Meeting each year, including on recommendations developed through this collaborative process.

A cornerstone of Envision Arlington’s work is the annual Town Survey, which helps to inform the town government, committees, and task groups about the priorities, goals, and vision that the community supports for the Town moving forward. Volunteers are needed to help develop effective questions, advise groups seeking data, enter data, analyze results, and produce summary reports.

Envision Arlington includes a number of task groups/committees and we welcome your participation in these groups, as well as your ideas for new projects or committees.  To learn more about Envision Arlington, to volunteer to help with the Town Survey, or to contribute ideas for public engagement methods, please contact:
