Affordable Housing Trust Fund Projects
Arlington's Affordable Housing Trust is continually looking for Affordable Housing projects to provide support to that will increase the number of housing units reserved for low- and moderate- income households.
Below are the projects that have received funding support through the Affordable Housing Trust:
2024
The AHT recommended approval to the Town Manager to allocate American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to the following Requests for Funding pursuant the Trust's newly established Acquisition, Creation, and Conversion (ACC) Program:
85-87 Grafton St. - $475,000 award to acquire a two-family home and deed-restrict both units for at least 30 years to households earning not more than 60% AMI.
80 Broadway - $200,000 award to deed-restrict one additional new construction unit (a total of 2 units) for at least 30 years to households earning not more than 60% AMI
Mass Ave Project - $1,875,000 award to the Housing Corporation of Arlington to acquire a 58 unit with some naturally-occurring affordable housing and deed-restrict at least 8 units to households earning not more than 60% AMI for at least 30 years.
The Affordable Housing Trust also awarded the following projects using Trust Funds:
85-87 Grafton St. - $25,000 supplemental award to acquire a two-family home and deed-restrict both units for at least 30 years to households earning not more than 60% AMI.
Mass Ave Project - $250,000 supplemental award to the Housing Corporation of Arlington to acquire a 58 unit with some naturally-occurring affordable housing and deed-restrict at least 8 units to households earning not more than 60% AMI for at least 30 years.
2023
The AHT approved two applications for funding from the Housing Corporation of Arlington.
Dorothy Rd ADU (35 Parker Rd) – $260,000 award: all-electric, 100% solar powered, 900 square-foot accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that will be reserved for a household earning less than 60% AMI.
10 Sunnyside Ave – $250,000 award: new apartment building with 43 affordable rental units that will be reserved for households earning less than 60% AMI.
